Chamomile is indicated for adults who feel irritated, constricted, stagnant, with low self-esteem, and in need of sweetening of the Soul. They may be inclined towards angry states of being, impatience, and whining. Chamomile helps children who are fretful, hard to please, suffering nightmares or experiencing emotional upset with digestive troubles (Wood, 2008).

Milky Oatseed is a nutrient-rich plant that strengthens connective tissue, skin, mucosa, and nerves. It is a tonic for the nervous system effected by exhaustion and drained energy from stress, excessive duties, drug use, prolonged illness, and sexual excess. Milky Oatseed also helps a person who may struggle with a lack of focus, concentration, and memory, as well as insomnia associated with nervous exhaustion and mental irritability. The medicine will also help with nervous and stressed digestion, in adults and children, and is indicated for bedwetting (Wood, 2008).

Tulsi is the Sanskrit name for Holy Basil, a very sacred plant of India, and used extensively in Ayurvedic medicine traditions. It is commonly found in Hindu courtyards and is used as a part of the daily ritual to Vishnu, the Lord of Preservation. It is high in sattva, imparting the quality of lightness and spiritual clarity. Tulsi is used as a mild nervine for heightening awareness and mental clarity, which also supports the lungs by increasing prana and the vital life force, a good warming stimulant to the digestion, and increases circulation through the heart (Pole, 2013).

Oxymels are herbal extractions in vinegar and honey. Raw apple cider vinegar immediately increases circulation and therefore moves stasis – be it emotional or physical. Due largely to its mineral content and its ability to normalize the body’s acid/alkaline balance, apple cider vinegar has long been valued as a versatile folk remedy. Internally, it cleanses the digestive tract; externally it disinfects skin wounds or abrasions. Its acidity reportedly aids in the removal of calcium deposits from joints and blood vessels without affecting normal calcium levels in the bones and teeth (Wood, 1999).

Raw honey contains enzymes and minerals, and energetically, it acts upon the stomach, spleen-pancreas, and lungs. It tonifies, soothes, nourishes, and has laxative properties. It is also useful in cases of fluid retention. Ayurvedic medicine has long observed that the beneficial properties of honey are destroyed when it is heated, which is why it is important to source raw unpasteurized medicine (Wood, 1999). It takes 12 worker bees to produce a single teaspoon of honey in their lifetimes, therefore, we must respect and support our bee relatives who create such precious and sweet medicine. We make a pact with the animals and plants when we use them, promising to care for them in return for blessing us with their healing powers.

Set your intentions when working with this remedy, ask for what you are seeking, and give thanks in return. Ask yourself what you need to slow down and relax, why are you moving so quickly, and/or why have you taken on so much? What is causing you stress and how can you create more space for calm and presence in the moment? When feeling overwhelmed always remember to breathe deeply into the belly and lungs, as our breath is our life force, and the breath of Creator. It is common for people to hold their breath when stressed and tense, and bringing our awareness to the simple act of breathing can help us to release and let go.
